Regarding traditions and festivities:
  • In Azpeitia, Biscay & Gipuzkoa. St Ignatius Loiola. In Azpeitia local music, food, drink and festivals. From July 30th to August 2nd.
  • In Vitoria, La Blanca city Festivals. The most popular festival in the Basque Capital. Celedon will come down from San Miguel Church to symbolize the start of these festivals. From August, 4th to 9th. 
  • In Iruña de Oca. Full Moon Party. St. Lorenzo Day.It is an evening stroll through the Botanical Garden of Santa Catalina de Badaia. During the tour, there are several stops, where you will hear legends and stories that will impregnate your mind with the magic of the moon and the charm of the place. August 10th.
  • In San Sebastian, Semana Grande (Big week) Festivals. Popular party with famous fireworks in Concha beach and lots of visitors. From August, 12th to 19th. 
  • In Araia. Shepherd Day. Exhibition and sale of cheese, artisan and ecological products. XIV edition of the Idiazabal cheese contest. Alava Championship of Dogs Pastor. Tuesday, August 15th.
  • In Llodio, Amurrio, Moreda de Álava, Nanclares de Oca, Elvillar,  Asparrena, Portugalete, Guernika,... Feasts in honor to Our Lady of the Assumption (August 15th) and San Roque (August 16th).
  • In Bilbao, Semana Grande (Big week) Festivals. One of the most popular parties in the Basque Country. From August, 19th to 27th. 
  • In Bilbao. The whale parade. Parade of giant figures for children and adults. Gran Via Avenue. August 20th.
  • In San Sebastian. Euskal Jaiak - Basque festivities. Old part of the city. The Day of the Cider will start the festival of Basque culture. Musical and sports activities and the best Basque gastronomy are its main claim. From August 31st to September 10th.
Regarding arts and exhibits:
  • In San Sebastian. Donostia-San Sebastián Musical Fortnight. It is the longest standing classical music festival in Spain and one of the most time-honoured in Europe. Kursaal Elkargunea Center, Victoria Eugenia Theater and other stages. August 1st until 30th.
  • In Vitoria, "Titereando" International Puppet show. Sundays, until August 30th.
  • In Bilbao. Priscilla, Queen of the desert (musical). Arriaga Theater. From August 16th to September 10th.
  • In Bilbao. Paris, end of century: Signac, Redon, Toulouse-Lautrec and his contemporaries. Guggenheim Museum. Until September 17th.
  • In Bilbao, Exhibit “El Greco". Fines Arts Museum. Until October 17th. 
  • In Bilbao, Exhibit “Georg Baselitz. Los Héroes". German art. Monumental figures painted, agitated and challenging, they have not lost an iota of their ambiguity, importance and vulnerability. Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. Until October 22nd.
  • In Vitoria, Exhibit " The book cultural testimony”. A tour of the history of the book, from the clay tablets of ancient Mesopotamia to the current electronic devices.". Artium. Until October 26th.
  • In Bilbao, Exhibit “Bill Viola: Retropection". Pioneer in the use of the video and in the exploration of the moving image. Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. Until November 11st.
  • In Getaria. Rachel L. Mellon Collection. Cristobal Balenciaga Museum. Until January 25th, 2018.
