We will recommend Aitor to our daughter and to all people interested in a really good tour guide. |

“Bilbao with Aitor Delgado” Aitor gave us a wonderful walking tour of Bilbao. His knowledge and pride in his home community were stellar, and we thoroughly enjoyed the morning. He shared information that we would not have received on a bus tour and we loved the time spent trying out bars and restaurants and sampling pintxos. We highly recommend him for a very personal Bilbao experience. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

“Unbelievable night” A friend recommended Aitor for a pinxtos tour in San Sebastian. We are so happy that we listened! On July 20, Aitor provided 4 of us with an unforgettable night. He gave us a history of the city as well as showing us some highlights including a few "secret "places. But of course the highlight was the the pinxtos. We went to about 8 bars and had an amazing sampling of some of the best pinxtos in the city. His choices were terrific and we would never have known what to order or where to go without him. Aitor is a fantastic guide and we would highly recommend using him to enhance your Basque country experience. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

“Best Tour & Tour Guide Ever!!!!” My friends and I were traveling to Bilbao and we wanted to go to Biarritz. I found Aitor Delgado Tour Guide on trip advisor. He was highly rated and I contacted him. He was going to show us far more than what we planned and after doing the math on renting a car for 5 people or staying in Biarritz I booked the tour. He was extremely reliable and kind in his correspondence. He picked us all up in a super comfy van and we started our day. It was the best tour ever! He showed us so much, took us to the best places to eat that we would have never found on our own. It was so much fun and he put us all at ease. He treated us like we were his family and he has so much passion for his country and teaching you about it. He gave us all recommendations for the rest of the trip. I really can't say enough wonderful things about the tour or Aitor. It was worth every penny and more! Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

“Amazing San Sebastián trip” I booked this trip with Aitor over 6 months beforehand and from the moment I made contact with him he was amazing. He was so helpful and informative in helping me plan the perfect trip while we were in Spain. He met us at our hotel in Bilbao and I knew instantly I had made the right decision in booking with him. We jumped in his car and we headed out of the city towards Zumaia a wonderful little coastal town about 30 mins outside of Bilbao, we walked along the beaches and cliffs and he told us about the history of the area. We then stopped in the a little fishing town of Getaria and visited the church and walked the cobbled streets taking in all its beauty. We finally arrived in San Sebastián for some lunch. We walked the narrow streets stopping at several different cafes to sample the local Pintxos from fish, to meat, to rice. Before heading back to Bilbao we made a final stop in the mountains to enjoy some magnificent views of San Sebastián. Aitor is amazing and I could not recommend his services enough. If you're ever in the Basque region make a booking with him and it will make your trip, just like is made ours. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

He has great experience and pride (deservedly) in Bilbao and our family had a great afternoon and evening with Aitor bar hopping. There was much laughter, as well as rather a lot of pintxos, txakoli and cervasa drunk. His tour was one of the highlights of our 4 week holiday in Northern Spain. "The best in Bilbao" We had an awesome 2 days of touring with our knowledgeable, friendly guide Aitor Delgado to 5 different but wonderful wineries (bodegas) with tastings and an amazing lunch at Restaurant Hector Oribe. We also visited Laguardia, a beautiful medieval town. The next day, we visited a few picturesque villages along the way to San Sebastián, upon where Aitor took us on a pintxos tour in the town. He also took us to many wonderful spots along the way back. He was a very good and knowledgeable guide and would not hesitate to recommend him. He also knows Bilbao very well. "Ranks as one of the best tour guides on Bilbao, specially for individuals with disabilities" My wife and I had the a superb guide in Bilbao on September 2016. Aitor Delgado provided an excellent overview of Bilbao and his knowledge of the culture of the area, the local area foods and his knowledge of art and architecture made our tour a great success. He brought the art in the Guggenheim museum alive. I use a mobility scooter and he arranged the private tour to include all the highlights of Bilbao and made sure everywhere we went were accessible and we felt we didn't miss anything. He arranged the transport and we even went on the tram. He arranged a delicious lunch, which were items best known in the area. Our only disappointment was the fact we did not have more time to spend with him before rejoining our cruise. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

"Two wonderful days in Basque Country" We were lucky to have Aitor as our guide in Bilbao yesterday, and he took us around walking telling all about the interesting history of Bilbao and the Basque Country. Also, he arranged for ut a "Pintxo" (local food) tasting during the guided tour which were amazing. You can ask Aitor about anything, and he will have the answer. For day two we went along the beautiful coast, and stopped in a small village were he had arranged with the wine tasting. Once more, excellent. During the trip he were guiding and told us all the interesting facts of the area we passed through. Thanks to Aitor we have so far had the most incredible stay in the Basque Country. This is the third time he is guiding us, and every time he offera something new and exciting. Can absolutly recommend him if you want to experience Basque Country with a local, service minded and excellent guide.. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

"Friendly, experienced guide" Aitor is a professional - he tailored a fabulous tour for us from Biarritz to San Sebastian based on our interests. He took us on a wonderful day trip from Biarritz, to Saint Jean de Luz, through Hendaye and to a wonderful festival in Hondaribbia, down the beautiful coast and finally to Pasaia before arriving at San Sebastian. Once he learned we were adventurous eaters and boat lovers, he customized the trip on the spot to add in some unique culinary adventures and a great wooden whaleboat museum. The following day, we did a wonderful pinxtos tour with him in San Sebastian, followed by a stroll through town. He clearly loves his culture and has a vast knowledge of Basque history, which makes for a fun and educational experience. We highly recommend starting any trip to the Basque region with a day with Aitor. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

"Simply the best!" Aitor met up with us at about 08.45 on 2 August outside Bilbao Port just after we came off the Portsmouth ferry. This was the start off an absolutely top day. Aitor is as nice a guy as you would ever wish to meet. He is deeply knowledgeable about the Basque region. He took us up to the hills behind Bilbao so that we had an overview of the city, across the transporter bridge, around the old city, through the Guggenheim Museum, on to pinxtos bars for lunch, along the coast road towards France stopping at some beautiful spots and then all the way to the Parador at Hondaribbia where we were staying. He is rightly rated as the top regional guide. We enjoyed our day with him so much that we met up with him and his friend Carlos for Sunday lunch on our way back to the UK! "Fabulous Tour Guide" ...wonderful day touring the Rioja wine country with Aitor. The day was beyond our expectations. He planned a combination of visits to wineries, historical sites and small villages that helped us experience and learn about the unique history and culture of the Basque region. Each of the tours/tastings at the four wineries in the Haro area were unique and informative and gave us a true appreciation for the wines of the area. A visit to the walled city of Laguardia was a highlight, enjoying a glass of wine and pintxo at the end of the day in an underground bodega. Interspersed throughout the day were refreshment breaks at interesting cafes and a fabulous lunch at a small restaurant where Aitor selected an array of lamb, local dishes and wines for us to enjoy. We never would have found all of these places on are own. Aitor's knowledge of the area from the wines, to architecture, to European history and Basque culture enriched every site that we visited. Our tour with Aitor was our favorite day of our ten day visit to northern Spain. He's easy going, friendly, a good conversationalist, and very informative. We plan on doing another tour with him next year. Very highly recommended! Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

"I would love to come back to Basque simply to spend another day with Aitor" I have been planning our (myself and my 11 y.o. son) trip to French and Spanish Basque country with help of my Spanish friends (Basque country locals) and Rick Steves (who is a professional traveler) guidebook. Let me tell you that none of them can come even close to Aitor! I planned to spend 3 days in Biarritz and then relocate to San Sebastian for another 3 days... Searching Trip Advisor, I got an idea that it will be fun to combine relocation/transportation from Biarritz to San Sebastian with sight seeing on our way… “Why not?” - I was thinking, “instead of taking a bus, let someone local show us around this wonderful country”. Thanks God I found Aitor’s private tour! Because this one day we spent together was THE BEST DAY of our whole 7-days long trip to Basque country! Aitor Delgano is simply the best! He is very professional - answered my email same day, proposed 6 different trip scenarios and made trip reservation very easy; he is very knowledgeable - knows history of his country, interesting fun-details which you will never find in travel books. He took us to unique places that we would never reach. Aitor is very warm and friendly person, one of these rare kinds of people whom you really enjoy to be around. Aitor is intelligent and very educated – we spoke many subjects besides Basque, and I found him extremely interesting and smart conversationalist… He listens to you and can easily feel your preferences and your mood and immediately adjust a trip plan. He goes above and beyond to make it 100% great and memorable (organizes guided tour at a museum, treats you with something yummy at the local bakery and etc.). Aitor is very calm and relaxed – we were not rushing anywhere, even that our tour took 1.5 hours longer than was originally planed. Aitor has fantastic sense of humor, and made both of us feel that we are with a very very close friend. After coming back home, I found in my mailbox pictures, which Aitor took during our trip. Pictures were nicely fused with maps of places we visited. I know that we will remember this day forever! Honestly, if you are planning trip to Spain, Aitor MUST BE YOUR CHOICE! From my side, I would love to come back to Basque simply to spend another day with Aitor. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

"Amazing Bilbao Adventure" It was truly the highlight of our trip! We met Aitor and began our walking tour of Bilbao. This was most informative and fun. Then we entered the Market and the real fun began. We had the most incredible 3 hour private lunch in the market restaurant . We had a private room with a huge window into the kitchen so we were able to watch all the activit while enjoying a fantastic lunch. Then on to the Guggenheim, which is phenomenal. Aitor provided a guided tour of the highlights of the museum inside and out!. Great fun! Then he treated us to the local " flavor". He took us to his favorite " pinxgoe" ( no idea how to spell it! ) restaurants . It was a blast. There were so many to choose from but Aitor guided us through it. We were having so much fun we nearly missed our ship sailing! We loved it so much that I have already booked another tour with Aitor when we return to Spain later this year with another group of friends . Thank you Aitor, it was delightful ! They were the highlight of our six day trip to the Basque Country. Touring with Aitor is like getting together with an old friend. We felt comfortable the moment we met him. "Like going for a tour with your friend" We enjoyed an excellent day with Aitor who had a great sense of what we wanted to enjoy in Billboa combined with stopping by numerous pxintos bars which were all quite special in there own way. You had a great sense that he had a genuine desire that we enjoyed our time with him and really afforded a generous amount of his time. He also gave some good suggestions for touring and places to see in the days ahead. Aitor was simply warm, obliging and probably the best tour guide we experienced throughout our two months in Spain. "Like visiting with Family" My wife and I spent 9 nights traveling through Spain from Barcelona ending in San Sebastian. Spending two nights in Rioja wine country in the tiny town of Brinas just outside of the city of Haro. We had arranged a day tour of the region with my travel advisor who used Aitor to be our guide. The day wound up being the most memorable of the trip. Aitor was the best guide and did the best tour we had during our days traveling Spain if not perhaps the best ever in our travels around the world! His personality and knowledge are second to none. We’ve never felt more comfortable meeting a total stranger and within a few short hours became friends, like we’d known him for years. He even extended his services for the balance of our trip making himself available for our phone calls, text and emails giving us recommendations on places to see and eat (best ever cheesecake @ La Vina in San Sebastian!) He’s a special person, one that makes a lasting impression and only comes along a few times in life. We will never forget the day we spent in Spain with him. We still keep in contact and I hope one day if he ever decides to come visit New York we will be able to return the favor. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

We walked through towns learning their history and culture while tasting the delicious foods Aitor recommended. "Where to start? Simply amazing!" The short review is Aitor is awesome! Stop reading now and book with him. We traveled to Bilbao by cruise ship and wanted to find a private tour vs. going with the crowds on the ship. I reached out to Aitor months before the cruise, and we planned a city tour of Bilbao. The day before our stop, we met someone that said, "you have to got to San Juan Gaztelugatxe." After seeing pictures, we agreed, we need to see it. So, I emailed Aitor, and he got right back to me that we could make the change. Aitor picked us up at the cruise terminal and off we went. He's extremely personable and heard us mention that we like seeing the coast and the countryside, so that's the way he drove to San Juan. We made a few stops at notable places before reaching San Juan. Within a few minutes of meeting Aitor, you can tell he loves the area. When we arrived at San Juan, he told us many stories of how he would visit, so he enjoyed the area too. He went along with us when we wanted to climb to the top and back down again. Then we started the drive back to the city of Bilbao, again stopping at notable places along the way with Aitor explaining the history and the significance. Back in Bilbao, which Aitor knows like the back of his hand - he even knows which parking spots to grab, we walked around the Guggenheim with Aitor explaining the history and importance. Then it was to the old town to see the cathedral and some of the squares. It was an awesome day filled with excitement, learning and laughs, and Aitor dropped us back at the ship. What was so sweet, and such a delight, was that throughout the journey, Aitor would take pictures of us at the sights (a nice perk because usually one of us is behind the camera), and then soon after the tour, Aitor sent them all to us. He's could have a second career as a photographer! What wonderful memories. Highly recommend Aitor as a guide, and when we're back in the area, we will definitely ask for him to show us some of the wine region! Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

"Quick 2 day visit to Bilbao" As a party of 6 we arrived Saturday at noon on a short trip leaving Bilbao early Monday morning. We thought a quick tour of Bilbao with an expert would at least give us a flavour of the City much better than unraveling various tour hints ourselves. Aitor did not disappoint. We booked for a 4 hour tour of the cIty. Despite 4 of the group thinking they would commit to only 2 hours all of us stayed to the end to be led expertly round the City in a structured way with various enlightening anecdotes along the way. Aitor had time for all and made the experience an individual memory for each of us. After our tour Aitor kept in touch to see how our Sunday was going recommending great restaurants and other places to see before we had to leave Monday morning. Can't rate this guide highly enough. Aitor is not cheap but gives value for money. We would all use his services again. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide

"Basque Coast Tour with a Friend" After lots of research, we are so glad we chose Aitor as our guide for a 1 day personalised tour along the Basque Coast - departing from Bilbao, travelling to the little fishing village of Lekeitio, then along the coast to climb the headland to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe monastery, to Gexto to see the hanging bridge & finally back to Bilbao. Not only were all our wishes fulfilled - we visited the little seaside village of Elantxobe, spent a couple of hours in Gernika where we toured the General Assembly building, saw the Guernika Tree, saw the highlights of the town including Picasso's Guernika reproduction & had lunch, and also spent time at Mundaka & Bermeo. At no stage did we feel rushed, yet we saw & experienced much more of the Basque Country & culture than expected. "Basque country at it's best with Aitor Delgado" Don't go to Basque country withiout Aitor by your side!!My husband and I engaged Aitor for an 8 day trip throughout Basque country. Aitor showed us the basics but ever so much more. How would you like to have wine tastings in the Rijoho area and see the Frank Ghery hotel at Masqel. What about a special visit to paleolithic caves? Did you know that Gaudi designed and built a summer home for a client in Basque country? Thanks to Aitor we enjoyed this very special Caprice! How about seeing the Chillada sculpture garden(which is usually closed to the public). Whatever your wishes, Aitor manages to make them come true. As for difficult restaurant reservations in Michelin star restaurants, his magic wand works there too. Vsiting the Guggenheim museum with Aitor is an art lover's dream. He whisks you in the door (no lines for us, ever) and then begins to weave his magic. Aitor knows the nooks and crannys of this area like no one else. He even found a local Festival in Espellete where we ate ribs from the grill and sipped local wines and met a pimento grower. Everyday was special because he always had a surprise whether it was tasting the most unique pintxos or visiting the cheese maker or eating in a country Inn. I am a world traveler who has visited every continent. Aitor is by far the best guide. Not only is he informative, he is caring and considerate and always aiming to please. I miss him every day! “Personable, knowledgeable, well mannered and dependable !” Visited the Basque country and glad we zeroed in on Aitor Delgado when we chose our tour guide. Aside from the good human virtues I mentioned above there is one trait that I would request Aitor to be our guide. We had just finished our pintxos tour in San Sebastian and the rain poured heavily non stop. And taxi's where all of a sudden no where to be found. Anyway, he did not leave us standing on our own to find a taxi even if our tour had already ended. For less competition for a taxi his strategy was to walk down a few blocks, we were tourist and had our rain gear but Airtor was just in a shirt and all wet (really soaking wet) and not worried about himself. Finally our taxi arrived he still rode with us to make sure we were delivered to our hotel. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

He choose three wineries which were very unique in their own way and especially a small winery which we couldn't have visited because of language barrier. Aitor covered so many things throughout the day and patiently answered all our questions during the tour. He drove us around in our car, gave us nice tips, arranged for a fabulous fabulous lunch and concluded the trip with Bull Fights! “Hard-working, honest, professional, knowledgeable and extraordinarily pleasant” I direct a US-American study abroad program in Spain, so I carefully research any third-party providers we work with. Aitor was highly recommended, and I can certainly see why. He gave our a wonderful tour of the Guggenheim Museum and afterwards we visited the old part of the city and concluded with a marvellous sampling of pintxos. The next day, we toured San Sebastian and had a lovely time. I wholeheartedly recommend Aitor for all the reasons mentioned in the title of my review and more. We had an amazing time on a Rioja wineries tour personalised for us and our 20 guests after our wedding near San Sebastian. Aitor was so knowledgeable, organised and enthusiastic - we were able to relax and enjoy the day because he was taking care of us. Our daytrip included visits to two wineries (one big, one small), great food at a local restaurant and a visit to Laguardia. It was also very helpful that he was able to organise the bus to drop us off in two different locations (and help communicate with the taxi driver for pick-up at the next stop). We're also forever grateful for his kindness in helping us to communicate with the hospital staff when my husband fell ill later that evening. Despite feeling ill, he still had a great time! Muchas gracias por todo! :) Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

Preparing a day tour for children in a city is complicated, but Aitor

Bilbao and tailoring the visit, but also giving us valuable information

Aitor went above and beyond our expectations. He picked us up at 10 a.m. and dropped us back at 9.30 pm. Every moment was spent experiencing sights and restaurants and beautiful features of Bilbao and the Basque coast. He is friendly and easy to be around and VERY knowledgable. We felt as if we were saying goodbye to a friend at the end of the day. I look forward to seeing him again on our next trip. My advice to anyone considering a guided tour is don't hesitate to book Aitor he is worth every Euro and then some. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

We had read the reviews about Aitor, but frankly take most of them with a
bit of skepticism. Although well traveled, this was our first visit to
Spain, and wherever we go, we always hire private guides to help us get a
sense of the local culture, dining etc. We hired Aitor for 5 days to
meet us in Bilbao and take us through the Basque region, ultimately
ending up in Barcelona. Aitor was not only incredibly knowledgable about the entire region and its history, but we adored his passion and enthusiasm. He had amazing attention to detail, remembering little things from day to day - such as who in our party preferred tea over coffee. Traveling with my boyfriend's parents, who are in their mid 70's, was a challenge in itself, but Aitor handled them with grace and style. We were all very sad to leave Aitor in Barcelona, it felt like he had become part of our family. We'll definitely come back to the Basque region to see our dear friend. Trust me when I say that you will be missing out if you do not hire Aitor on your next visit to Spain! . Facebook Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

We came to Bilbao around mid July and were a group of five (family) and
looking to tour the city. We found Aitor's tour on trip advisor with
great reviews so we decided to check if he was available on such short
notice. He ended up matching our expectations and more! He asked us about our group's interests to enable him to create a personalized tour. He showed us all around Bilbao, with details and lots of passionate talk about its history and its present. Aitor has a really interesting way if delivering the history of a place and is a very friendly person to converse with. He made sure that we rested at nice places for drinks in between the 4 hour tour and he recommended many other places based on our preference. At the end of the day he had reserved a table for us at a beautiful square for dinner where he shared with us his recommended dishes. He also made sure that my mother is well taken care off (she has a limited food palette). We all left with a smile as we were walking back to our hotel - thanks for the lovely day Aitor :) . Being a Travel agent I work with a LOT of tour guides in many different countries. When I say Aitor is one of the best that is saying a lot. He took 6 of my upscales clients around for the day and as soon as they got back to the ship they were texting me to say how fantastic he was. Aitor did something no one has ever done before. He treated them to coffee in a beautiful hotel setting and gave ME the credit for it. I was floored when I was getting "thank you" text from my clients. Who does that??? It is just so refreshing to work with someone so professional and so thoughtful. From beginning to end he stayed in contact with me and returned every email very timely. I only hope I can get to this area and some point and experience his services first hand because my upscale discriminating clients raved about him and they do not hand out compliments easily. Thank you Aitor for making me look good. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

I should start by saying that, despite being a fairly regular user of
the site, this is the first review I have ever written on Trip Advisor.
Lazy maybe, selfish perhaps, but certainly prior to this point I had
never really been truly compelled to take the time to write a review
about anything I had experienced on my travels. In Aitor's case,
however, I had to make an exception, because he was that good. What impressed me the most with Aitor was the extra mile he would go to make your trip as memorable as possible, especially when it came to the finer details of its preparation and the personal adjustments he could make to help deliver the tour you wanted. I was organising the trip to Bilbao to celebrate a friend's upcoming marriage and I subjected poor Aitor to an endless bombardment of emails, questions and queries for about 3 months prior to the tour, but all of my messages were handled promptly and enthusiastically and I am so thankful to him for that because our weekend in Bilbao was infinitely better thanks to his priceless input. It really did feel like we had a friend in the city and I just knew that I could trust his advice. One stand out memory was Aitor helping to create a very personal gift for the soon-to-be groom and then even devising a quiz of Bilbao that my friend had to win to be rewarded with that gift . Aitor really didn't have to do that for us - it was way above and beyond the call of duty - but again we are so grateful he did because it definitely made the experience so much more memorable. Aitor clearly loves and is proud of the Basque region and due to that the passion and energy he shows for this region are infectious. He was just great and we would absolutely and definitely hire him again. On behalf of all 10 of us, thank you Aitor, we really appreciate everything you did. Tom Hall & friends Manchester UK. We have just returned from a trip to Bilbao and had an excellent time. Aitor looked after us all even before we arrived in Bilbao. We arranged two tours: 1) Tour of Bilbao and the pintxos bars, 2) Wine tour in Rioja country. Both tours were fantastic and Aitor made sure we experienced the "real Bilbao". If you need a guide for the Basque country (Bilbao, Vitoria-Gastaeiz, Bayonne or wherever), engage Aitor Delgado. Very knowledgeable. Really knows his stuff about Basque history as well as current culture in Spain and France. And he goes above and beyond to make your trip exactly what you want it to be. He made suggestions and recommendations for some sights and each turned out to be interesting and added to the quality of my trip. He is very personable, a genuinely nice person. Not stiff like some guides. He welcomed questions and was very accommodating in every way. He gets a grade of A+++. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Basque Private Tour Guide |

Aitor was an excellent guide to understanding Bilbao and the history of the city. He met us at the center of the city and we started our walking tour. He explained the influence of the Guggenheim on the rest of the new city's architecture and we share stories about the designer of the new bridge and the modifications needed to make it safe for people to cross. Aitor told about the Basque region, history and the language. He showed us a picture of him in traditional dress. I wish we had more time to explore other areas in the Basque region and i would readily contract with him again. Did I mention he also knows his wines? We had already spent a few amazing days in northern Spain before our scheduled tour with Aitor and were concerned that he would have a hard act to follow. Hah! First of all, Aitor and his driver were punctual, pleasant, flexible, and engaged us immediately! He didn't waste a minute and began informing us about the history and culture of Logrono and the Rioja region. Then he absolutely wowed us with the first spectacular vista! He continued to take us to out of the way spots that we would not have ever found on our own. He took us to amazing wineries, a 5 star Basque restaurant with a fabulous chef, coffee at a Frank Gehri designed hotel, villages, churches, and everywhere we went, he provided history and cultural notes. After leaving him, he still gave us tips for the rest of our stay, where to go, what not to miss. Aitor grew up here and knows it like the back of his hand. We have already recommended Aitor to friends and plan to hire him again when we are in the area. In sum, Aitor is highly knowledgeable, professional, entertaining, and fun to be with! I was cruising (...) I was so
fortunate to have Aitor for my tour guide for a day. (...) Aitor and I communicated for quite a few months, so we were
ready to go when I arrived. It was like we were old friends. I was
traveling alone because my hubby is taking a break from traveling for a few years. We first went to the beautiful seaside city of San Sebastian. We visited a few lovely highlights and then had a delicious lunch at a charming local restaurant. Aitor told me all about the history of the area. We continued on to do a little shopping in Bilbao and also had a delightful pintxos dessert. (...) The Guggenheim was fantastic. Aitor was extremely informative about the different exhibits. I loved my visit with Aitor! I learned a lot about the Basque Region. We talked and laughed a lot and I will be for sure asking Aitor to be my tour guide when hopefully I return to this area. I forgot to say that in San Sebastian, I got to take a picture with the sign that designated where the Tour to France bicycle race started in 1992. I am a huge fan of the sport! After my summer in Spain in 2013 (see previous review I posted for
Aitor) my bf and myself decided to return the next summer to explore
Madrid. The first thing I remember asking myself was "I really wish
there was an Aitor in Madrid." I decided to message him about the
possibility of a tour in Madrid and it turned out that Aitor was going
to be in the area during our stay! Once again, Aitor exceeded expectations. It was like seeing an old friend again. The second I found out that Aitor was going to be available for a Madrid tour, I instantly felt relieved. No need to hunt for anymore tour guides. No more researching places to eat or sites to see. We had complete trust in him. We knew Aitor on autopilot would make our Madrid experience just as amazing as our Bilbao one. Thank you again Aitor for another unforgettable experience! Aitor is an amazing guide who managed to show us the best of Bilbao in just a few hours: creative architecture, colourful markets, yummy pinchos bars and amazing bird eye viewing points. Aitor Delgado is a fantastic guide. My family and I made the trip to
Bilbao to visit with our middle son and needed someone with inside
knowledge of the Basque area. I basically guessed at random, liking the
picture I found of Aitor, and managed to hit a bull's eye with a
blindfold covering my eyes. Aitor and I planned our two different tours from the Bilbao area over the internet. I gave him a basic idea of what we wanted to do and then Aitor came back with the tours. He included everything we wanted to know; starting time, finishing time, information covered, distance covered, important areas to see and something of the cultural significance. These tours sounded great, but I was wary that they could hold up to personal inspection. They didn't. The actual tours surpassed what we expected. Because of the weather, Aitor had to make a number of audibles during the tours and he did it with grace and aplomb. Even though each tour had to be changed during the middle of it, Aitor had some fantastic backup plans that still gave us an enthusiastic and informative tour of the Basque country. In addition to the tours, Aitor also managed to set up our family with a pair of professional photographers so we could take a family photograph. We'd not been all together for many years and we wanted to take this opportunity to document where we are now. This picture is extremely important to us. Aitor not only found a fantastic photographer for us, but also acted as interpreter and made several suggestions that made the photo session even better. All for no charge. Just because Aitor is Aitor and he's a good man. Our visit to Bilbao wouldn't have been nearly as fun without meeting Aitor. Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Private Tour Guide |

Guernica was not part of the original tour and he was so kind and flexible to take me there even though it was at the other end of the route. Very nice quality and a great human being. (...) I’ve
worked with many guides in many places. Aitor is among the very best.
It is one thing to know a place and its history (Aitor does). But it is
another thing to tailor a place to suit the tastes of the visitor … and
this is where Aitor excels. Let me put it this way: with Aitor, you will see the Basque Country, but you will also see YOUR Basque Country — the best the Basque Country has to offer, tailored to your tastes and your schedule. And Aitor, like a magician, will whisk you from place to place, leaving you to relax and enjoy the experience without any worries about how to get from place to place. Curious about pintxos (say “pinchos”), the fresher, more delicious Basque take on tapas? Aitor will lead you to bars you’ll never find on your own. (...). At each stop, we had all the time we needed to soak up the atmosphere (and linger for an impromptu organ concert, too!). (...) Aitor knows the dates and the background of every stop along the way — but (and this is important!) he knows how to scale that information to your personal interests. (...) All along the way, Aitor made quick decisions and replotted our course to take best advantage of things going on at different times of day, constantly tailoring the trip to our personal tastes, level of curiosity, and energy level. He brings enormous creativity and energy to his work, and his pride in his home country shines through during every minute of the tour. Aitor is friendly and personable. He laughs easily, has a big sense of humor, and genuinely cares about whether you enjoy your day. Before our trip, he was in constant contact, making sure we had things to do before and after we met him. And while we were with him, we just adopted him into our family. We got to know a lot about the Basque Country … but we also feel we got to know Aitor, and that made our entire trip feel less like a tour and more like time spent with a son or brother who happens to have grown up here. When you travel to the Basque Country, you should let Aitor bring this place to life for you. You’ll see more, do more, and enjoy more as a result of working with him — and get the most fun out of every precious minute. Isn’t that the reason you’re shopping for a guide in the first place? We (a group of four couples from Hungary) (...) opted for a short walking tour of approximately 3 hours. Aitor made an excellent job, showing all the important attractions of Bilbao. Moreover, he gave us a very interesting intruduction to the history and present of Basque Country. As our Bilbao walk was on the first day of our 8 days trip in the Basque Country, this intruduction was extremely valuable. His knowledge about his land is impressive, his English is perfect (much better than ours). I am happy to recomend his services to anybody visiting Bilbao or other parts of the region.

I could tell by my first contact with Aitor that we were going to have a
great day in our cruise port of Bilbao Spain. Since we were already
visiting several wineries during our cruise we opted to see more of the
Basque Interior. He took us to a local small sheep cheese producer where
we got to see the daily operations and best of all eating several
delicious cheeses, plus local honey and wines. Not too many people can visit and be guided through a medieval castle owned by the same family since the Middle Ages. It was easy to see the pride by the current owner as he toured us through this beautiful castle. Off to a local restaurant for a delicious meal before heading to salt valley of Anana. Unlike anything you can imagine. I had mentioned to Aitor that if possible I would love to see the Guggenheim Museum before returning to our cruise ship and he had no problem making that happen for us. Aitor met us when our tender docked in Saint Jean de Luz and provided
a great tour of Bayonne and Biarritz. He was able to provide a lot of
local history and information, both as we drove and walked through the
cities. He did a great job of selecting the notable things to see in
both cities; and we got to sample the great chocolate in Bayonne. While
we had no problems walking, Aitor was very attentive to retrieving the
car to save us steps. We was very willing to give his time and not watch
the clock.
Despite an unscheduled overnight move of our ship from Saint Jean de Luz to a commercial dock in Bayonne, Aitor was able to meet us on time and our day in San Sebastian went as scheduled. We also had a wine tour and tasting of the local wine. Aitor guided us with a sampling of the local pintxos (tapas). A second long, but great day with Aitor. Aitor met us in Bilbao for our third day tour with him. We toured Bilbao and he guided us through the Guggenheim (for which he is licensed). We went to a local restaurant for a pintxos lunch. We then went to Guernica where we learned more about the Basque history. We considered ourselves lucky that we had wonderful and informative tours with Aitor. ...extremely organized in arranging... student of history, and his passion comes across with every story... Aitor himself has traveled quite extensively, all over the world (I
believe over 30 countries). This travel has led him to understand what
makes a meaningful, interesting, and fun trip - and as such makes Aitor
uniquely qualified... That said, he was very flexible. Changing the plan on a dime didn't
fluster him at all. He rolled with the changes and always had
alternatives to suggest. For being so flexible and easy-going, you would
never believe that he was also punctual. You could tell he takes his
job seriously, but also enjoys it too!... Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Private Tour Guide |

...whole day private tour to Bilbao coming from San Sebastian last May 27.
Aitor was a very good guide. Very knowledgable in Basque history and
very informative as well. He doesn't hesitate to tell you everything he
knows about a certain place. Very lively as well during the whole tour... Highly recommended guide especially for private tours where he can
tailor to your needs. Our tour was at a very relaxed pace and itinerary
very flexible. He was not like other guides who would be hurrying up the
tour... Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Private Tour Guide |

...seven hour walking tour of Bilbao with Aitor Delgado in April. It was
the best tour of our trip to Spain. The tour was quite complete from the
center of town to the Old Town and finally to the Guggenheim Gallery.
Aitor is a great guide, very knowledgeable and pleasant. You could sense
his enthusiasm for his city and the Basque region!... Tripadvisor Reviews of Aitor Delgado Private Tour Guide |

...I left the itinerary to Aitor and he did not disappoint
us... a very relaxing but informative day... many
small villages and some amazing countryside. We stopped for breakfast
and lunch, and to our delight Aitor joined us for the meals, unlike many
guides who choose to keep a distance... has a vast knowledge of the
area and also of Spain as a whole. He was punctual, friendly and his
English is excellent. I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting
the area. Thank you Aitor for an amazing Day!!

...a great city tour. He has a huge fund of knowledge about Bilbao, Basque culture,Basque history, and many other topics. Everyone in our group has travelled extensively, but we all agreed he is one of the best and most knowledgeable guides we had ever seen. He also has a delightful personality and we all enjoyed our time with him very much. He took care of many details and clearly wanted us to have a good tour. We recommend him very highly. |

sites with a smart friend that can also make interesting conversation!
He is a gem as he balances professionalism with warmth and friendliness...our time together never felt cookie cutter since he customized the tour
around Bilbao to our interests and to how our conversations developed.
It was a pleasure to spend time not just in Bilbao, but with Aitor!

...I have had tour guides that were loaded with great information, but
lacked the ability to make a personal connection, which made them seem
more like a self-guided audio tour. Within 30 mins of our tour with
Aitor, it felt as if he was an old friend just showing us around. (...) we had an unforgettable time and I am even more interested in

Originally booked a day in San Sebastian with Aitor since we read good
reviewed here and on his Viator profile. We changed the trip to the
second day in the basque country where we wanted to explore the French
side. Aitor prepared for us a trip to Biarritz and Saint Jean the luz.
Aitor had every piece of knowledge and history for every place we
passed, was easy and flexible and the kids (3 girls) loved him! He took
us to all the main touristic places and the small secret places to eat
and drink etc. In addition Aitor took us to San Sebastian amusement park
to see the view and stayed with us so late, he would not leave us till
we are done! really amazing! This was absolutely one of the best days we
had in the trip as we had no worries to what to plan or do next. Aitor
is a first class guide for ones or families that want to make the most
out of their trips! Highly Recommended! Thanks Aitor, The girls already
miss you :-)

Aitor took our family of 8 on a wonderful day tour. We started in Burgos
and travelled through the countryside to tour several wineries in La
Rioja and the town of Laguardia. Aitor made the day a pleasure despite
the rainy weather. He answered all our questions and was extremely
knowledgable about the history and culture of the area. He made sure to
include activities that were of interest to the two older children in
our group. The day with Aitor was one of the highlights of our trip to
Spain. I highly recommend his services.

My wife and I enjoyed the most amazing 2 day tour with Aitor. He
picked us from our cruise ship and drove us to the cities we had
requested months before. One was near Bilbao where I lived 45 years ago.
Aitor went out of his way to ask strangers about a distant relative and
we found her! It was incredible. We insisted on having Aitor join us
with our meals. His presence enhanced our dining experiences and we feel
Aitor is now a friend. We will be using him again when we return to the
