Basque Fest. From March 28th until April 1st.

Regarding traditions and festivities in Basque region:

  • In Bilbao. Basque Fest. Exhibitions of art, dance and street theater, children's entertainment, craft fairs, concerts, samples of Basque design and traditional sports exhibitions. From March 28th until April 1st.
  • Easter is celebrated all over the Basque Country from March 29th until April 2nd this year, but these are the best places to see something different in your visit: see March agenda.
  • In Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Napoleonic Market. It gathers, during a whole weekend, more than 140 stalls of gastronomy and local products. In addition there are activities, performances, theaters, parades, recreations and characters from the time of the French occupation for all audiences. Arriaga Park. Neighborhood Association Ipar-Arriaga . From April 6th until 8th.
  • In Biarritz. Salon des Antiquaires. Antiques, contemporary art, vintage, antique books. From  March 30th until April 2nd. Le Bellevue.
  • In Ordizia. Shepherd 's Day. Fair organized to show the world of the sheeps, shepherd and the cheese. More than 200 sheep will remember the passage of the herds by the towns. Contest-exhibition of the Latxa breed rams and sheeps. Exhibition of the art of shearing sheep and how cheese is made. April 4th.
  • In Elciego. Market of the flower and the orchard. VII Exhibition and sale of: plants, vegetables, preserves, ornamentation, machinery for garden and vegetable garden. April 7th.
  • In Aia. Txakoli Wine Day. 20 producers of the Getaria Denomination of Origin from Aia, Getaria and Zarautz villages, will show their products on April 8th.
  • In Biarritz. Spring Market. Nearly 150 boutiques in Biarritz offer the largest brands at the best prices. Ready-to-wear, lingerie, shoes, fashion accessories, luggage, perfumes and beauty products, home decoration, table linen and home .... April 20th until 22nd.
  • In Navaridas. VI Historic Wine Fair. Fair designed to learn about the history of wine in the world and highlight the importance of Rioja Alavesa wine. Paired tastings and local products. April 22nd.
  • In Vitoria-Gasteiz. San Prudencio Festivals. On the night of April 27th and 28th.
  • In Aia. XV Fair of collection plants. Iturraran Botanical Garden. April 28th & 29th.
  • In Ujue, Navarre. Religious Pilgrimage which dates back to 1043 A.D. April 29th.

  • In San Sebastian. C de C 2018 Congress.  The Creative Club is the only organization that works to improve and unite creative talent in Spain. Kursaal Palace. April 12nd until 14th.

  • In Bilbao. The beauty of singing Zuberoa, by Jean Bordaxar and his group. They will interpret songs that speak of peoples and their people, sung a capella. Singer, dancer and actor, Bordaxar has fostered a new way of interpreting Basque popular songs, building a bridge between tradition and modernity. Arriaga Theater. April 23rd.
  • In Bilbao. Gutun Zuria Festival 2018. International Festival of Letters of Bilbao, a meeting point for international, national and local writers and writers with the public, thanks to a format of talks that is close and open to conversation. Azkuna Center. From April 23rd until 29th.
  • In San Sebastian. Tango Festival. With demonstrations and free courses. Victoria Eugenia Theater & Parque Tecnológico Miramón. From April 24 until May 1st.
  • In Vitoria-Gasteiz. Tosta: Concert / show in which ten musicians / singers of the TOSTA Banda participate, chosen for being references in their countries and cultures and for their great potential: Scotland, Friesland, Wales, Cornwall, Galicia, Ireland, and Basque Country.   • In San Sebastian. ICOME'18. International Conference on Materials and Energy. Miramar Palace. From April 30th until May 4th.
  • In Bilbao. HENRI MICHAUX: The other side. A selected review of sixty years of visual work by Henri Michaux (Namur, Belgium, 1899-Paris, France, 1984), an unclassifiable figure of twentieth-century art and literature, and a cult reference for great artists such as Francis Bacon or Asger Jorn . Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao. Until May 13th.
  • In Bilbao. Goya and the illustrated court. Exhibition for the life and work of the artist during his years of consolidation as a painter in the Court of Carlos III and Carlos IV. Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. From February 14th until May 28th.
  • In Getaria. "Balenciaga. Fashion and Heritage". Exhibition that shows the evolution of the work of the couturier in its successive stages and aspires to become a reference sample to understand and know in depth the legacy generated by Balenciaga: where he comes from, what he contributes in his time, and what he transmits to us today. Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum. Until January 29th 2019.

Regarding Basque sports: 

  • In Bilbao. Downhill International Cup. UCI Class 1. March 31st and April 1st.
  • In Biarritz. 34th edition of Biarritz Quiksilver Maïder Arostéguy. It is the oldest surf competition in Europe. This meeting of the Easter weekend in Biarritz brought together 250 surfers from all over France (Brittany, the Mediterranean, the Landes, the Royal countries, the Basque country) but also Spanish Basques, Italians and other European nationalities. From March 31th to April 2nd.
  • Cycling Tour of the Basque Country. The contest in northern Spain is a feast for climbers and puncheurs, as the Basque Country is teeming with sharp hills and mountains. April 2nd to 7th.
  • In Zarautz. Surf World Championship "Pro Surf”. In the programm you can also include: films, several concerts, exhibitions, volleyball, footbal and skate exhibits. From April 4th until 8th.
  • In San Sebastian. Half marathon of San Sebastian: 21,097 km. April 15th.
  • In Bilbao. Bilbao Menditrail. 24 km of mountains, 24 km around Bilbao, 24 km of exertion and incredible views. The Bilbao MendiTrail is a mountain race and walk that is ideal both for the most demanding and for the whole family. April 15th.
  • In Vitoria-Gasteiz. Popular Run Vitoria-Gasteiz - Estibaliz: 15,075 km. April 22nd.
