Tolosa Carnival. February 8th to 13rd.

Regarding traditions and festivities in Basque region:

  • In Laudio/Llodio. San Blas Festival. Exhibition and sale of agricultural and artisan products, rural sports, elaboration of blood sausages, dance and music shows, a tribute to the baserritarras of the area, tasting of chestnuts, burning and scraping the pig,.. and Txarripatas Gastronomic Contest (pig hands). From January 28th until Febrary 3rd.
  • In Logroño. XVI Pinchos Competition of La Rioja. February 1st to 24th.
  • In St Jean de Luz. Hartzaren eguna. Journée de l'ours. February 3rd.
  • In Laguardia. Articulated Bethlehem. Church of Santa María de los Reyes. One of the few baroque nativity scenes equipped with movement that are preserved today, and arouses great interest among visitors and residents of the area. February 6th and 7th, all at 1:00 pm. The last of these will revolve around the flight to Egypt.
  • In Tolosa. The most multitudinous and popular carnivals of the Basque Country. February 8th to 13rd.
  • In Gipuzcoa. 2018 Carnival Celebrations: San Sebastian, Tolosa, Amezketa and Abaltzisketa. February 8th to 13rd.
  • In Alava. 2018 Carnival Celebrations: Vitoria-Gasteiz,  Zalduondo, Laudio, Santa Cruz de Campezo, Agurain and Salcedo. February 8th to 13rd.
  • In Biscay. 2018 Carnival Celebrations: Bilbao, Mundaka and Markina-Xemein.  Concerts, dance shows, tastings and various competitions, various activities… February 8th to 13rd.
  • In St Jean de Luz. Main Carnival. February 10th.

  • In Bilbao. WFS Bilbao Industry. Networking platform that promotes business in the football industry. Euskalduna Palace. February 14th and 15th.
  • In Bilbao. Iceland Dance Company: Black Marrow. Arriaga Theatre. February 16th and 17th.
  • In Biarritz. Les Stentors: Ma Patrie. Conciert. Gare Du Midi Theatre. February 18th.

  • In Bilbao. "David Hockney. Pictures". This exhibition presents portraits of realized with a renewed creative vigor in the last two years. Guggenheim Museum. From November 10th until February 25th, 2018.
  • In Biarritz. Edmond. Comedy. Gare Du Midi Theatre. February 26th. 
  • In San Sebastian. Sor Navarra (zarzuela). Homage to Pepita Embil (Getaria, 1918 - Mexico, 1994), on the centenary of her birth, considered as the Queen of zarzuela !. Victoria Eugenia Theater of San Sebastián. February 28th
  • In Bilbao. Zinegoak 2018: XV Bilbao International Gay-Lesbo-Trans Film. Bilborock Hall, BilbaoArte and The Golem Cinemas. From February 19th until March 4th.
  • In Bilbao. Art and space. It includes works by Eduardo Chillida, Olafur Eliasson, Lucio Fontana, Sue Fuller, Robert Gober, Eva Hesse, Cristina Iglesias, Prudencio Irazabal, Agnieszka Kurant, Sol LeWitt, Richard Long, Anna Maria Maiolino, Asier Mendizabal, Bruce Nauman, Iván Navarro, Damián Ortega, Jorge Oteiza, Pablo Palazuelo, Nobuo Sekine, Susana Solano and Lee Ufan, among others. Guggenheim Museum. Until April 8th 2018.
  • In Bilbao. Eduardo Arroyo. He is one of the most outstanding painters of Spanish art of the second half of the 20th century. Fine Arts Museum. Until April 9th.
  • In Bilbao. Goya and the illustrated court. Exhibition for the life and work of the artist during his years of consolidation as a painter in the Court of Carlos III and Carlos IV. Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. From February 14th until May 28th.
  • In Bilbao. "Henri Michaux: The other side". A selected review of sixty years of visual work by Henri Michaux (Namur, Belgium, 1899-Paris, France, 1984), an unclassifiable figure of twentieth-century art and literature, and a cult reference for great artists such as Francis Bacon or Asger Jorn . Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao. From February 2nd until May 13th.
