What to do in the Basque Country - Arts Agenda November 2016



Regarding traditions and festivities:
  • In Gernika. Beans Day. Agricultural products: fruits, vegetables, cheese, bread ... popular tasting. Exhibition of Basque rural sports and activities for children. On November 5th.
  • In Campezo. St. Martin Festival. Farmers and craftmen fair. On November 8th.
  • In Biarritz, the French Basque Country, the local festivals will be hold on 7th and 15th November (Fête St Martin). A lot of activities all around the city.
  • In San Sebastian. Euskadi-Basque Country International Cheese Festival 2016. The organization World Cheese Awards will be present at the festival, awarding the prize for the best cheese in the world's most important modality championship. Kursaal Congress Palace. November 16th to 18th.
  • In Bordeaux, Bordeaux S.O. Good. Festival of gastronomy and the art of living. From 18th to 20th November in Aquitaine capital. 
  • In Bilbao, Fun&Serious Game Festival & Congress. Awarding best video games of the year. Palacio Euskalduna, Guggenheim Bilbao Museum, Bilbao Town Hall. From November 25th to 28th. 
  • In Navarra, the Game days will be hold in the gorgeous Pyrenees valley of Bertiz from 26th October to 30th November. 
  • In Eibar & Azkoitia, St. Andrew Festival: Exhibition and sale of agricultural products and artisans; and parades, improvisers, trikitilaris and txistularis (Basque Music). November 30th

    In Bilbao, Guggenheim Museum. “Albert Oehlen exhibition. Recent work”. Until October 21st 2016 to February 5th, 2017.
  • In Bilbao, Guest Work: The Salzillo´s Nativity. Sculptor Francisco Salzillo (Murcia, 1707-1783), polychrome three hundred pieces, about 30 cm and modeled in clay or carved in wood. Bellas Artes Museum. Until 6th February 2017.
Regarding sport:
  • In Vitoria-Gasteiz. International rhythmic gymnastics exhibit EuskalGym. Enjoy the choreographies of best 10 gymnasts in the world according to the International Gymnastics Federation rank. Pabellón Fernando Buesa Arena. November 5th. 
  • In Guipuzkoa, the popular run from Behobia (France border) to San Sebastian. On November 13rd (20 km)  
  • In San Sebastian. Traditional Marathon which runs in the streets of one of the most beautiful cities of the Basque Country coast. International Association of Athletics Federations has ranked this Marathon as B, being the most important in Spain. November 27th.
Regarding children:
  • In Tolosa, Gipuzkoa, a water puppets exhibit in The Puppet Museum. 
  • In Azpeitia (Gipuzkoa). Tours in steam train from the Basque Museum of Trains.  
Regarding music:
  • In Bilbao, Biscay, Fair Saturday. Coro Rossini in The Matter of Time exhibit, November 26th.
