What to do in the Basque Country Events Agenda April 2016

Our selection of best art, sport and cultural events in the Basque Country during April, 2016

Best traditions & festivities:  

• In Mutriku, Mackerel Fish Day. Which apart of food market and pintxos, includes a boat regatta. April 2nd.
•  In Aia. Txakoli Wine Day 20 producers of the Getaria Denomination of Origin from Aia, Getaria and Zarautz villages, will show their products on April, 3rd.
• In Pamplona. Pintxo week. More than 90 bars will take part on this competition which involves best pintxo bars in Pamplona and all around Navarre. From April 8th until April 17th.
• In Elciego, Alava. Flower and Vegetable Garden Market. The picturesque village where Hotel Marques de Riscal is, organizes this beautiful event. On April 9th.
• In Vitoria-Gasteiz. San Prudencio Festivals. On the night of April 27th and 28th.
  

Regarding arts and exhibits:

• In Bilbao, Masterpieces of the Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. Until April 3rd.
• In Vitoria-Gasteiz, Selection of Concept Art in the Basque Country (1994 - 1999). Artium Museum. Until May 22nd.
• In Bilbao, Luis de Morales exhibition. One of the main artists of the Spanish Renaissance, with pieces from Prado Museum in Madrid and other Museums. Museo Bellas Artes de Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. Until May 16th.
• In Bilbao, Andy Warhol exhibit: "Shadows" (1978 - 1979). Guggenheim Bilbao Museum. Until October 2nd.
• In San Sebastian, Silvio Rodriguez, Cuban singer concert. In Velodromo Anoeta. On April 3rd.
• In Pamplona, Giuseppe Verdi's Nabucco Opera. In Baluarte. On April 14th.
• In San Sebastian, Cinema and Human Rights Film Festival. Victoria Eugenia Theater. From April 15th to 22nd
• In Bilbao. Best Breakdancers in the Festival: Break on stage. Bilbao Arena Pavillion, April 16th.
• In Vitoria-Gasteiz, 9th Congress of Ethics and Values. Europa Congress Palace, April 23rd and 24th.
• In San Sebastian. International Dance Exhibition. On April 29th.
• In San Sebastian. Several activities inside the 2016 European Culture Capital Programm. See the official site:

Regarding sport:

• In Zarautz, Surf World Championship "Pro Surf" World Qualifying Series in surf. In the programm you can also include: films, several concerts, exhibitions, volleyball, footbal and skate exhibits. Until April 3rd. 
• Tour of the Basque Country. In 5 of the 6 days they will go up by 33 mountain passes and the last leg will be a race against the clock.
