Summer takes good weather and our rowing version: "traineras".
This Basque sport has its roots in the big fishing industry of Biscay and Gipuzkoa, specially in Hondarribia where according to last studies was born as a way to fastly move in the water.
Nowadays, the fishermen are not using traineras for fishing any more, but a Basque traditional sport has become very popular and you can see "traineras" competitions in major Basque tourist towns like Bilbao, Hondarribia or San Sebastián, but also all along the Bay of Biscay.
