Hold in Alicante, Valencia Autonomous Region, the Spanish Gastronomy Congress gives every year a prize for the Best Pintxo Bar in Spain.
This prize has been given to different bars on these last years, but most of them are in the Basque Region.

2008 Café Niza, Pamplona
2007 A Fuego Negro, San Sebastian

2005 Sagartoki, Vitoria-Gasteiz
2011 Best Pintxo Bar in Spain has been awarded to the Bar Marmitaco of Vitoria-Gasteiz.This bar has a very nice and imaginative menu of pintxos available as well in their restaurant area.

It is to be noticed that Vitoria-Gasteiz has a great presence on this list as 3 restaurants have been directly awarded and the chef of A Fuego Negro in 2007 and the chef of Café Niza in 2008 are from Vitoria-Gasteiz and they are running now their own bars in Vitoria-Gasteiz: Hordago and Rodaballo.
